A friendly exchange between Bundist figure Henryk Erlich and his father-in-law Simon Dubnow, Jewish historian and advocate of Jewish Autonomism, concerning the Zionist movement. In his article, Erlich strongly criticized the Zionist goal of creating a Jewish state in Palestine, which had grown in popularity during the rise of the Hitler regime in Nazi Germany. He furthermore noted how many Zionist leaders had recently been echoing fascist and anti-Semitic rhetoric in an attempt to make migration to Palestine appear as the only solution to the Jewish question. The article originally appeared in the Yiddish newspaper Di Tsukunft in October 1938. The translation is by Samuel Portnoy in his book Henryk Erlich and Victor Alter: Two Heroes and Martyrs for Jewish Socialism.
