It celebrates another year of operation with «its fabulous beach, its workers of yesterday and today, as well as its different way of delighting customers, make the difference,» the collective posted on its Facebook profile.
«With the experience of the 40 founders who are with us today and the energy of the new generations, we will continue to achieve success and overcome challenges as one big family. Thank you for being part of our history and congratulations to all,» the post concludes.
The hotel, which is run under a management contract by the Spanish chains Meliá and Cubanacán, stands out for its special approach to managing the workforce, to whom we also celebrate collective birthdays, encourage them and take care of their personal problems, says Estrella Sánchez, general secretary of the trade union bureau.
Located in the famous Playa Azul for the celebration of Cuban Days, a place where the traditions and symbols of the country are enhanced, Meliá Las Antillas has established itself as a reference in the island’s tourism industry thanks to a carefully designed and constantly evolving program of experiences.
According to experts, since its inception, the facility has maintained a focus on continuous improvement, seeking not only to meet but to anticipate the expectations of today’s travelers.
The stretch of sea located in the area of the Meliá Las Antillas was included in the report of the Best Beaches of 2024, a selection made by the International Training Center for Beach Management and Certification (CIFPLAYAS) and the Federal University of Rio Grande (Brazil).

Environmental quality, storm protection, services and infrastructure were rated the highest. «It is characterized by its fine white sand, blue and transparent waters, and good preservation and restoration of its dunes and vegetation. It has an impeccable integrated management system and offers all the services typical of tourist beaches, with sustainable design and operation,» the report said.

As evidence of this commitment to the environment, and as a continuation of the Sustainable Tourism Project, now in its second year, a diploma course on the subject, with a focus on biodiversity and climate change mitigation, is being held on the premises of this facility.
